FEMA National Flood Insurance Legislation Forces Victims Out of Their Homes.

The Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012 (BW-12) called for FEMA and other agencies to make substantial changes in the administration of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).  As a result, victims of engineered, Hurricane Sandy have seen bankrupting increases in flood insurance premiums as have owners of coastal properties across the US.

Protest groups demonstrated in New York and nine other states on Sept 28, demanding that congress repeal or amend the BW-12 legislation.
